Oliver's Success Story
On September 8, 2005 we received a male Harlequin Great Dane whom we named Oliver. He was found in Horry County, S.C. tied to a tree left to die in a wooded area. Oliver only weighed 91 pounds, he had open wounds, fleas, ticks and was heartworm positive. Click here to read about his beginning at the rescue and view pictures of him when he first came to us.
After a year in rescue we felt Oliver was ready to be placed in a home and because we had become very attached to him we began the search for a perfect family where he would be safe and one who could give him the life he deserved. As fate would have it, the family found us!

Vicki and Zee were searching for a Dane that would fit into their life. They have 2 Danes and wanted to add a third one to complete their family. After looking on our website, they felt an immediate attachment to Oliver and contacted us. They drove from Tennessee to meet him. That particular day we had taken Oliver to a “Blessing of the Animals” event where he met his new parents for the first time.
Oliver had a special blessing which his new mom witnessed. We asked God to look after Oliver and his new family.

Vicki and Zee took Oliver to the beach that day so they could all get to know one another.

Oliver got to meet his two-legged brother and sister-in-law who live in the Charleston area.

The next morning he was on his long journey home.

Once he arrived in Tennessee, Oliver got to see his new back yard.

He met his brother “Remy” and they became instant buddies

The neighborhood gathered around Oliver to welcome him home!

After all the excitement of the first day was over, Mom reassured him that he would never want for anything, especially love.

Ally, his sweet new sister, is making sure that Oliver never feels alone again.

Now, every morning Oliver gives his mom a wake up call.
With each new day an adventure awaits him, after all a family that plays together stays together!

Vicki and Zee tell us that Oliver has completed their family and they could not have found a more perfect fit. As for Oliver, he will always have ties that bind him but now those ties are home and family!
