Anna & Josie

Josie came to us from a local shelter on March 6, 2006. Her owners were having a baby so they threw her away. She was heartworm positive and extremely scared of people. Josie also has double hip dysplasia. It took Josie a while to trust us but once she did her great personality came shining through.

Then on April 9, 2006 a beautiful girl named Anna came to us all the way from Oklahoma. It took 12 drivers traveling 1400 miles to bring her to the safety of our rescue. Click here for the “Drive For Life” story. Anna had lived her life in a kennel with people who could not afford to feed her. She had a very sweet disposition so we decided to let her and Josie be roommates.

Josie and Anna became friends quickly. Anna’s calm and trusting energy showed Josie how to trust people and in return Josie taught Anna how to play with toys and enjoy life.
One day a loving couple came to the rescue and fell in love with the girls and decided to adopt both of them!

On May 5, 2006 the girls were brought to their new home. They got to inspect the yard first.

Anna stopped playing long enough to give her new mom a proper "thank you"!

A foot massage sounded good to Josie.

Little Miss Anna followed her dad to see where he was hiding the treats.

What a happy day!

Anna curled up in her dad’s arms, she was content with her new family and it showed

Josie and Anna both received new collars and leashes and a whole box of great toys but all they really wanted was the love of this wonderful family. Now they are sisters forever!
